Brian P. Mehan
March 20, 1987 ~ March 2, 2008

The CVBL has decided to honor one of its most courageous alumni, both on and off the field: the CVBL's Sportsmanship Award shall henceforth be named the Brian Mehan Sportsmanship Award.  Brian was an inspiration to all who knew him, and his continued participation in the CVBL during his protracted battle with cancer was a testament to his iron will and unflagging resolve in the face of adversity.  While no measure taken by a simple baseball league can truly represent Brian's impact in his community, it is hoped that the award will serve at the least to preserve the memory of his remarkable fortitude for many years to come.
